We’re absolutely delighted to have Solstice join us at this year’s Midsummer Prog Festival! Formed in 1980 in Milton Keynes, England, by guitarist Andy Glass—the band’s enduring creative force—Solstice has woven a rich tapestry of neo-progressive rock with folk and symphonic flourishes over four decades. Their 1984 debut, Silent Dance, introduced a dreamy, organic sound that stood apart in the ‘80s prog revival, and they’ve since evolved with masterpieces like 2020’s Sia and 2022’s Light Up. With Jess Holland’s enchanting vocals and a lineup featuring soaring violin from Jenny Newman and Glass’s masterful guitar work, Solstice delivers a spellbinding live experience. Fresh off their Best Band win in the Prog Magazine Readers’ Poll and with their new album Clann set for release in April, their May performance in Maastricht promises to be a transcendent highlight of our festival!
